Pre-Trip Inspection

PRE-TRIP INSPECTION (EXTERIOR)

  1. There are no leakages or obstructions underneath the vehicle.
  2. This wiper is fine.(Right side)
    • The tread of the tyre is correct.
    • The sidewall is undamaged.
    • The wheel nuts have been checked.
    • The valve cap is on.
    • The tyre pressure is correct.
  4. Both head lights, parking lights and indicators are clean and undamaged.
  5. The bonnet is secure.
  6. Underneath the bonnet the water, oil, brake fluid and the drive belts have been checked.
  7. This wheel (left front) is checked the same as the right front wheel.
  8. This wiper is fine. (Left side)
  9. This wheel (left rear) is checked the same as the right front wheel.
  10. The fuel cap is on.
  11. Both the rear lights are clean and undamaged.
  12. This wheel (right rear) is checked the same as the right front wheel.

PRE- TRIP INSPECTION (INTERIOR)

  1. All the doors are closed.
  2. The hand brake is on.
  3. The vehicle (car) is in neutral.
  4. There are no obstructions at my feet.
  5. The seat is adjusted.
  6. The mirrors are adjusted.

THE EXAMINER WILL REQUEST THAT YOU OPERATE THE FOLLOWING;

  1. Signals
  2. Park lights & head lights
  3. Wipers
  4. Horn
  5. Stop lights & tail lights

Starting Procedure Before Roadtest

  • The handbrake is up
  • The vehicle is in neutral
  • All the warning lights are off
  • Switch ignition to “on” and mention that the warning lights are now on (functional)
  • Start engine and mention that the applicable warning lights are off.
